Why was this startup created?

We’ve been running clubs and Japanese-style pubs, called Izakaya, since 2008. At the same time, when this service was born in Fukuoka.  We would often hear that people didn't know where to go at night and had trouble finding new places. On the other hand, a lot of bars were struggling to attract customers. We thought the nightlife scene could be a more lively and fun place if both sides of this problem was fixed, and we could connect customers to bars. Nomy was born from this idea.

Please describe your product or service.

Nomy is a service that allows you to discover night spots, such as bars and clubs, with the concept of a 60-minute night tour. Our service suggests new places allowing you to discover areas and places for your night life.

What is your company's vision?

We envision a future where the night life scene is thriving, with bars and clubs overflowing with people in a safe city environment.

What are your plans or goals for expanding your business over the next year?

In coordination with local governments, we will continue to expand the areas we cover. We want to provide a comfortable experience for inbound tourists, a market which is set to increase with the forthcoming 2020 Olympics. We also plan to add the ability to pay for your bill within the Nomy app within the year, so our users can travel around the city without cash.
